Rachel Garwood
Our Founder
Rachel Eva Elaine Garwood is the founder of Xplorient and creator of Xtell, the UK career and labour market intelligence platform that measures how AI is affecting UK professional roles, role by role, using government occupational data. She has spent more than twenty years across AI, technology, engineering, and education, working for startups, SMEs, and large international organisations in business development, product management, and bid management roles.
For the past several years she has worked in applied AI consulting, seeing every day how artificial intelligence is actually being deployed inside organisations rather than how it is discussed in the press.
Rachel contributed to the ONS Standard Occupational Classification 2030 consultation and delivered a workshop at the CDI National Careers Leaders Conference 2024. She is completing an MBA with an AI specialism and serves as a Chief Relationships and Partnering Officer and Voluntary Board Member for a non-profit organisation.
She built Xtell because she could not find the tool she needed. Working at the intersection of applied AI delivery and career development, she kept having the same conversation with colleagues and professionals she knew, people asking whether their job was safe, what they should be doing, and where to find a specific and honest answer grounded in real data rather than opinion. No such tool existed. So she built one.
Xtell launched in March 2026 and tracks 260+ UK professional roles using six government data sources including the DSIT AI Occupational Assessment, ONS Standard Occupational Classification, DfE Occupations in Demand, the UK Standard Skills Classification from Skills England, Adzuna live vacancy data, and the Government Office for Science AI Scenarios 2030.
